And by the time the real fixture list arrives, half the country has already booked leave from work for the wrong week.
So here is the straight answer. BPL 2026-27, the 13th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League, is expected to start on Friday, 15 January 2027, with the final on Sunday, 14 February 2027. The tournament should run for 34 matches across Sylhet, Chattogram and Dhaka. That said, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has not published the official fixture list yet, so treat every date on this page as an expected window based on how BPL 2026 was scheduled and what BCB officials have said publicly.
We update this page the same day BCB releases anything new. No guessing, no recycled screenshots.

BPL Schedule 2026-27
Let me clear up the name first, because it confuses a lot of people. You will see this season written as BPL 2027, BPL 2026-27 and BPL 13, and all three point to the same thing. The season starts in one calendar year and ends in the next, which is why the hyphenated version keeps showing up. Cricket loves making simple things sound complicated.
The BPL is Bangladesh’s biggest domestic T20 competition. Six city-based teams play each other twice, then the top four fight it out in the playoffs, and one team lifts the trophy in Dhaka. That is the whole idea. Everything else is just detail.
Now, the reason there is confusion about the 2027 dates is that BPL 2026 got moved. It was supposed to run in its usual slot but ended up shifting to a December-January window because of the national elections and the ICC T20 World Cup. So the last season actually finished on 23 January 2026.
For 2027, reports point to BCB targeting a mid-January start. That would put the league back closer to its traditional January-February slot, which is what most fans wanted anyway. January in Bangladesh means cool evenings, dew on the outfield, and captains suddenly becoming very interested in winning the toss.

Same number of matches, same three cities, same phase system where the tournament travels from Sylhet to Chattogram to Dhaka. Because BCB has repeated that pattern for several seasons now, it is the most sensible base to work from.
But here is the honest bit. Until BCB publishes the real thing, nobody has the actual fixture list. Not us, not the big cricket portals, and definitely not that WhatsApp screenshot. Anyone showing you a confirmed BPL 2027 schedule right now is making it up.
What we can do is give you a realistic structure you can plan around, then swap in the confirmed dates the second they arrive. If you follow this page, you will not miss the announcement.
One more thing worth knowing. BCB has changed the schedule mid-tournament before. During BPL 2026, matches were rescheduled and the Chattogram leg was dropped entirely after a period of national mourning. So even after the official list drops, keep checking.
Why the start date keeps moving every season
BPL dates are not decided in a vacuum. Three things push them around, and once you know them, the changes stop feeling random.
First, the ICC Future Tours Programme. Bangladesh has international commitments booked years ahead, and BCB has to slot the BPL into a gap where the national team players are actually available. A T20 league without Bangladesh’s best players is just a very expensive practice match.
Second, overseas player availability. The BPL competes with other franchise leagues for the same pool of foreign cricketers. If the window clashes with a bigger league, the quality of overseas signings drops, and BCB knows it.
Third, national events. Elections, exams, religious calendars and security planning all affect when stadiums can be used and when crowds can safely gather. BPL 2026 moved for exactly this reason.
So when you see the start date shift by a few weeks, it is usually one of those three at work. It is rarely bad organisation, though fans on Facebook will tell you otherwise every single year.

Match times use Bangladesh Standard Time (BST, UTC+6). Day matches usually start at 1:30 PM and night matches at 6:30 PM, with Friday games pushed back to 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM so people can get there after Jummah prayers.

How the BPL 2027 Playoff System Works
A lot of fans watch the whole league stage and then get lost the moment the playoffs start. It is not complicated once you see it laid out, so let me walk through it properly.
Four teams qualify from the six. The top two get a safety net, and the bottom two of those four get one shot. That is the entire idea behind the system, and it exists to reward teams that finished high in the table.
Qualifier 1 explained
The first-placed team plays the second-placed team. Whoever wins goes straight to the final and then gets several days off to rest, watch, and pick their opponent’s weaknesses apart.
The loser does not go home. They drop into Qualifier 2 and get a second chance, which is the advantage of finishing in the top two. Two lives instead of one.
Eliminator explained
Third place plays fourth place. This one is brutal because there is no second chance. Lose, and your season ends that evening.
The winner moves into Qualifier 2 to face the team that lost Qualifier 1. They also have to back up quickly, often with less rest, which is why the top two spots matter so much.
Qualifier 2 explained
This is the last-chance match. Loser of Qualifier 1 against winner of the Eliminator, and the winner books the second spot in the final.
Teams coming through this route are usually running on fumes by the time the final arrives. Playing three knockout games in five days is not kind to fast bowlers.

Sylhet International Cricket Stadium
This is the prettiest ground in Bangladesh and it is not close. Tea hills sit behind the boundary, the seating is partly grass embankment, and on a clear January afternoon it looks like a postcard someone actually printed.
The pitch usually favours batters more than the other two venues. Boundaries are reachable, the outfield is quick, and totals around 170 to 180 are normal here rather than exceptional.
Bowlers who bowl straight and full get punished. Spinners who keep a tight length can still work, especially in the second half of the evening once the dew settles in and the ball starts skidding.
Getting there is easy enough from Sylhet city centre, and the ground is a short ride from the main areas. Gates usually open about two hours before the first ball, and the day games in January are pleasant rather than punishing.
If you only attend one BPL leg in person, make it this one. The atmosphere in the grass banks during a close chase is worth the ticket on its own.
What to expect on the Sylhet pitch
Average first-innings scores here run higher than in Dhaka. Chasing teams do reasonably well because dew helps them later, so captains often bowl first after winning the toss.
Fast bowlers get a little help with the new ball in the first three or four overs. After that it flattens out and becomes a batting surface, so the powerplay usually decides the shape of the innings.
Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium
Locals call it the Sagorika ground because of where it sits in Chattogram. It is a proper cricket ground with a big playing area and a crowd that gets loud when the home side is chasing.
The surface here tends to be the most even of the three. Batters can trust the bounce, and stroke players who like the ball coming on to the bat usually enjoy it.
Sea breeze is a real factor in the evenings. Swing bowlers can get more movement here than they do in Dhaka, especially in the second session, so opening bowlers matter more than people expect.
Boundaries are slightly longer square of the wicket. Big hitters who go straight down the ground do better than those who rely on the pull shot, which is a small detail that shows up in the stats every season.
Chattogram matches often produce the highest totals of a BPL season. If you are picking one leg to watch for entertainment rather than tactics, this is usually it.
Travel note for Chattogram fans
The ground is a manageable ride from the city centre, but traffic near the stadium gets heavy from about an hour before the first ball. Leaving early is the difference between seeing the toss and seeing the fifth over.
Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium
Mirpur is the home of Bangladesh cricket and the venue every BPL final has used in recent years. The BPL 2026 final took place here on 23 January 2026, and the 2027 final is expected in the same place.
The pitch is famously tricky. It grips, it turns, and it slows down as the match goes on, which is why totals here are lower than at the other two venues.
Spinners run the show at Mirpur. Sides that pick an extra spinner instead of an extra seamer usually get rewarded, and 150 can be a winning score even though it looks small on paper.
The ground has hosted the 2011 World Cup, several Asia Cups and the 2014 ICC World T20 final, so it is used to big occasions. Capacity sits around 25,000 and the finals fill it.
Traffic in Mirpur on a match day is its own sport. If the game starts at 6:30 PM and you leave at 5:30 PM, you will hear the first six on the radio while sitting somewhere near Kazipara.
Why the final is always at Mirpur
Three reasons. It has the largest capacity, the best broadcast and media setup, and it is the easiest venue for BCB officials, sponsors and international guests to reach.
There is talk every few seasons about moving the final elsewhere. So far it has stayed in Dhaka, and nothing suggests 2027 will be different.

When two teams finish level on points, net run rate separates them. NRR is simply the run rate you scored at across the tournament minus the run rate you conceded.
Here is the part most people get wrong. If you are bowled out before your 20 overs, your full 20 overs still count against you in the calculation. So getting skittled for 90 in 14 overs damages your NRR far more than losing a close chase does.
That is why teams sometimes push for boundaries in a lost cause. It looks like reckless batting, but they are usually protecting their net run rate for a playoff race three weeks away.

BPL 2027 Squads, Draft and Player News
Squads for BPL 2026-27 are not final yet. The player draft usually takes place about four to six weeks before the first match, which would put it somewhere in late November or December 2026 if the January start stays put.
Each team keeps a set number of retained players, then fills the rest through the draft and direct signings. Overseas players are limited, so franchises think hard about whether to spend those slots on a batter, a pace bowler or a finisher.
Last season’s award winners give you a sense of who the top targets will be. Shoriful Islam took Player of the Tournament with 26 wickets, Parvez Hossain Emon top-scored with 395 runs, and Tanzid Hasan Tamim struck a century in the final.
Expect all three to be among the most fought-over names when the draft comes around. Champion teams also tend to keep their core together, so Rajshahi Warriors will probably retain heavily.

BPL 2027 Tickets and Ground Access
Ticket details for BPL 2026-27 have not been announced. Based on recent seasons, sales usually open one to two weeks before the tournament, split between online platforms and physical counters near each stadium.
Prices vary a lot by stand and by match. Group-stage games in the cheaper stands are affordable for most fans, while the final at Mirpur is the most expensive ticket of the season by some distance.
A few practical things worth knowing before you go.

What Changed Between BPL 2026 and BPL 2027
BPL 2026 was an unusual season, so it is worth listing what actually happened before you use it to predict 2027.
The season ran from 26 December 2025 to 23 January 2026 with 34 matches and six teams. Several franchises had been renamed or replaced compared with 2025, which is why Fortune Barishal, Comilla Victorians and Khulna Tigers were absent.
Mid-tournament, BCB issued a revised schedule after a period of national mourning. The Chattogram leg was removed and those matches were redistributed, which pushed the Dhaka phase to start on 15 January 2026.
Rajshahi Warriors then won the title by 63 runs over Chattogram Royals in the Mirpur final. Tanzid Hasan Tamim made a century, and Sri Lankan quick Binura Fernando took four wickets for nine runs.
For 2027, the main open questions are the franchise line-up, the exact window and whether all three venues stay. Team names in Bangladeshi franchise cricket change more often than most leagues, so do not assume all six sides carry over.

We build the expected fixture list from the last confirmed BPL structure, which is the BPL 2026 schedule published by BCB. That gives us the number of matches, the phase system, the venue rotation and the standard start times.
We then check reported BCB planning for the next window. As of August 2026, reports point to a targeted mid-January 2027 start, which is what our projected dates are built around.
Anything not confirmed by BCB is labelled as expected. We do not publish unlabelled dates, because a wrong date that looks official costs someone a plane ticket.
