Sylhet Titans: BPL Squad, Schedule, Players List, History & Results
Sylhet has the best cricket ground in Bangladesh, the loudest home crowd in the BPL, and a franchise that has changed its name seven times in eleven seasons. Trophies? Still none. If patience were a trophy, Sylhet supporters would need a bigger cabinet.
So who are the Sylhet Titans? They are the BPL’s Sylhet-based franchise, owned since November 2025 by Cricket With Sami, captained by Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz and coached by Sohel Islam. They finished third in BPL 2026, their best result since a runners-up finish in 2023, after beating Rangpur Riders in the Eliminator and losing Qualifier 2 to Rajshahi Warriors by 12 runs.

This page covers the full 25-man squad with shirt numbers, every season since 2012, and the projected 2027 fixture list.

How Many Players Are in the Sylhet Titans Squad?
Sylhet Titans carried 25 players in BPL 2026, the largest squad in the tournament. That split into 15 Bangladeshi cricketers and 10 overseas signings.
Ten overseas players for four match slots looks excessive until you see the names. Chris Woakes, Moeen Ali, Angelo Mathews, Mohammad Amir, Saim Ayub and Sam Billings do not all clear their calendars for the same four weeks.
International schedules chop through a BPL squad constantly. Carrying ten foreign options meant Sylhet always had four available, even when England or Sri Lanka called someone away mid-tournament.
The local core was strong too. Parvez Hossain Emon, Zakir Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, Afif Hossain and Ebadot Hossain have all played for Bangladesh, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz is one of the first names on the national team sheet.
How many matches did they play?
Sylhet played 12 matches in BPL 2026: ten league games, the Eliminator, and Qualifier 2.
They finished fourth on the league table with 5 wins and 5 losses, exactly enough to squeeze into the playoffs. Then they beat Rangpur Riders in the Eliminator and lost Qualifier 2, which left them third overall.
Every side plays 10 league matches in the six-team format. The full playoff structure is explained on our BPL Schedule 2026-27 page.

That is one of the strongest overseas lists any BPL franchise has assembled. Three current or recent England internationals in one squad is not normal for this tournament.
Captain: Mehidy Hasan Miraz
Miraz bowls off-spin in the powerplay and bats anywhere from three to seven. He also captains Bangladesh in white-ball cricket at times, so leading a franchise is familiar territory.
He is the sort of captain who bowls himself in the hardest overs rather than hiding. In a squad packed with senior overseas names, that willingness to take responsibility matters.
Key players
Parvez Hossain Emon, the tournament’s top scorer
Emon was the leading run scorer in the whole of BPL 2026 with 395 runs. He also kept wicket and finished with 13 dismissals, the most for Sylhet.
At 22 he was one of the youngest players in the squad and comfortably its most productive. He passed 2,000 career T20 runs during the season, which for a player his age is a strong marker.
Nasum Ahmed, the control bowler
The left-arm spinner took 18 wickets, the most for Sylhet. He bowls tight rather than flashy, and at a ground where the ball comes on nicely, that control is worth a lot.
Shohidul Islam and the 100-wicket mark
Shohidul reached 100 T20 career wickets during BPL 2026. He is the kind of honest domestic seamer who never makes headlines and keeps getting picked because he keeps taking wickets.
Moeen Ali led the team with five catches and gave them a second frontline spin option alongside Nasum and Miraz. Ariful Islam made his BPL debut during the season, one for the future.
Sylhet Titans History: Season 1 to Season 12
A Sylhet team has played eleven of the twelve BPL seasons and worn seven different names. That is more rebrands than any other franchise in the league, which is saying something.
Every Sylhet season in the BPL
| Season | Year | Team Name | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2012 | Sylhet Royals | Did not reach final |
| 2 | 2013 | Sylhet Royals | Did not reach final |
| 3 | 2015-16 | Sylhet Superstars | Did not reach final |
| 4 | 2016-17 | Did not participate | n/a |
| 5 | 2017-18 | Sylhet Sixers | Did not reach final |
| 6 | 2019 | Sylhet Sixers | Did not reach final |
| 7 | 2019-20 | Sylhet Thunder | Did not reach final |
| 8 | 2022 | Sylhet Sunrisers | Did not reach final |
| 9 | 2023 | Sylhet Strikers | Runners-up |
| 10 | 2024 | Sylhet Strikers | Did not reach final |
| 11 | 2025 | Sylhet Strikers | 7th of 7 |
| 12 | 2026 | Sylhet Titans | 3rd |
Eleven seasons, one final, no titles. Sylhet is the longest-running BPL franchise never to win the thing.
The early names, 2012 to 2016
Sylhet Royals took part in the first two BPL seasons and made no real impression. When the league returned in 2015 after a break, the team came back as Sylhet Superstars under new ownership.
They then missed the 2016-17 season entirely, when the BPL ran with seven teams and no Sylhet side. That remains the only edition without a team from the division.
Sixers, Thunder and Sunrisers, 2017 to 2022
Three names in five seasons and no playoff run worth remembering. The Sylhet Sixers played in 2017-18 and 2019, Sylhet Thunder in 2019-20, and Sylhet Sunrisers in 2022.
Each rebrand came with fresh owners promising a new direction. None of them lasted more than two seasons, and the cricket stayed mid-table or worse.
Sylhet Strikers, 2023 to 2025
The Strikers era produced the franchise’s only final. In 2023 they reached the title match under Mashrafe Mortaza and lost to Comilla Victorians, who were at the peak of their four-title run.
That was as close as Sylhet has come. The next two seasons went backwards, and 2025 ended with a last-place finish, seventh of seven, with Zakir Hasan scoring 389 runs in a poor side.
Sylhet Titans, 2026 onwards
Cricket With Sami bought the franchise in November 2025 and renamed it. They hired Sohel Islam as head coach and built a coaching group that included Imrul Kayes on batting, Syed Rasel on fast bowling and Enamul Haque Jr on spin.
Going from seventh of seven to third in one season is a genuine turnaround. It is also the franchise’s best finish since the 2023 final.

| Category | Player | Figure |
|---|---|---|
| Most runs | Parvez Hossain Emon | 395 (tournament high) |

|---|---|
| Matches | 10 |
| Won | 5 |
| Lost | 5 |
| Points | 10 |
| Net run rate | 0.373 |

Five wins and five losses is the definition of a team that could go either way. What saved them was net run rate: 0.373 was better than three of the sides above or near them.
Matches that shaped the season
The opener went badly. Sylhet posted 190 for 5 against Rajshahi Warriors and lost by 8 wickets as Rajshahi chased it in 19.4 overs.
Then came a one-wicket win over Noakhali Express in a game where Noakhali’s Mehedi Hasan Rana took the first hat-trick of the season, the ninth in BPL history. Sylhet chased 144 and got there with one wicket standing.
They beat Dhaka Capitals twice, by 6 runs and by 20 runs. They also bowled Noakhali out for 61 in 14.2 overs and knocked off the runs in 8.4, which is about as one-sided as T20 cricket gets.
Chattogram Royals beat them twice, once by 9 wickets and once by 14 runs after posting 198 for 5. One of those fixtures was postponed from 30 December to 4 January following the death of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
The Eliminator win
Sylhet won the toss, fielded, and restricted Rangpur Riders to 111 for 9. They then chased it down with seven wickets down, so hardly comfortable, but through.
Qualifier 2 and the end
Against Rajshahi Warriors they fielded first again and conceded 165 for 9. The chase finished on 153 for 8, twelve runs short.
Twelve runs from a second BPL final. Sylhet supporters have now spent eleven seasons doing sums like that.
Sylhet Titans Expected Schedule 2027

Sylhet International Cricket Stadium: The Home Ground
This is the prettiest cricket ground in Bangladesh and nobody argues about it. Tea hills sit behind the boundary, part of the seating is a grass embankment, and on a clear January afternoon it looks like something from a travel brochure.
Capacity is around 18,500, and it opened for international cricket in 2007. The grass banks are unique in Bangladeshi cricket and give the ground an atmosphere the concrete bowls in Dhaka cannot match.
The pitch favours batting more than the other two BPL venues. The outfield is fast, the bounce is true, and totals of 170 to 180 are normal rather than exceptional here.
Bowlers who bowl full and straight get punished. Spinners who keep a tight length still work, particularly later in the evening once dew arrives and the ball starts skidding on.
Sylhet hosts the opening phase of the BPL most seasons, which gives the Titans a run of home games before anyone else gets theirs. In 2026 they used it to take 5 points from their first four home fixtures.
More on all three BPL grounds sits in our BPL Venues guide.
What to Expect from Sylhet Titans in BPL 2027
Keep Parvez Hossain Emon. That is the whole plan, really. A 22-year-old who tops the tournament run charts and keeps wicket is the most useful cricketer any BPL franchise owns.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz should stay as captain if he is available. The coaching group under Sohel Islam clearly worked, and continuity is rarer than talent in this league.
The overseas group is the question. Woakes, Moeen, Billings and Mathews are all in the back half of their careers, and Sylhet will need to decide whether to re-sign experience or chase younger match-winners.
Third place is progress from seventh. The next step is a final, and Sylhet have reached exactly one in eleven attempts.
Squad news and draft picks go on this page and on our BPL Squads hub as soon as they are official.

Final Words

Eleven seasons, seven names, one final, no trophy. That is the record, and it is the reason Sylhet crowds still turn up early and stay late.
The ground is the best in the country and the fanbase is the most loyal. Sooner or later that combination deserves a title.
