Twelve BPL seasons have produced seven different champions and about thirty different team names. Franchises have won titles under one badge, disappeared, come back with a new owner, and won again wearing different colours. Keeping track of who actually won what is harder than it should be.
So who has won the BPL? Comilla Victorians lead with four titles. The Dhaka franchise has three across its various names, Fortune Barishal have two, the Rajshahi franchise has two, and Rangpur Riders have one. The most recent champions are Rajshahi Warriors, who beat Chattogram Royals by 63 runs in the final on 23 January 2026.

There is no season for 2014. The BPL did not run that year following corruption investigations into several original franchise owners, which is why the season numbers and calendar years never quite line up.
BPL Titles by Franchise
Counting titles gets confusing because franchises change names constantly. The table below groups them by the city they represent, which is the only way it makes sense.

Comilla Victorians, the most successful BPL team
Four titles in eight appearances is a strike rate nobody else comes close to. Comilla won in 2015-16, 2019, 2022 and 2023, and reached another final in 2024.
Their peak was the 2022 and 2023 back-to-back run. They also lost the 2024 final to Fortune Barishal, which means they reached three finals in a row.
Comilla did not play in BPL 2026. The franchise was absent when BCB rebuilt the league around six teams, which is a strange thing to say about the most successful club in the competition’s history.
The Dhaka franchise and its three titles
Dhaka won the first two BPL seasons as Dhaka Gladiators, then a third in 2016-17 as Dhaka Dynamites. All three came in the first six seasons.
Since then the franchise has been Dhaka Platoon, Minister Group Dhaka, Dhaka Dominators, Durdanto Dhaka and now Dhaka Capitals. Six names, no titles, and no final since 2019.
Fortune Barishal and the back-to-back run
Barishal won in 2024 and 2025, the only side other than Comilla to defend a BPL title. They also lost the 2022 final to Comilla.
Like Comilla, they were absent from BPL 2026. Two of the three most recent champions did not take part in the following season, which says a great deal about franchise stability in this league.

2026: Rajshahi Warriors beat Chattogram Royals
Played on 23 January 2026 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka.
Chattogram won the toss and chose to field, which aged badly within an hour. Tanzid Hasan Tamim scored a century and Rajshahi Warriors posted 174 for 4.
The chase never started properly. Chattogram were bowled out for 111 in 17.5 overs, with Sri Lankan quick Binura Fernando taking 4 for 9. Rajshahi won by 63 runs.
The route both teams took
This final produced one of the more unusual playoff stories in BPL history. Rajshahi topped the league table with 8 wins from 10, then lost Qualifier 1 to Chattogram.
They came back through Qualifier 2, beating Sylhet Titans by 12 runs, and then won the title. Chattogram Royals had gone straight through with four days of rest and still lost heavily.
Shoriful Islam of Chattogram was named Player of the Series after taking 26 wickets, a record for a single BPL season, for a team that had lost its owners the day before the tournament started.
2025: Fortune Barishal beat Chittagong Kings
Barishal defended the title they had won the previous year, beating Chittagong Kings at Mirpur in February 2025.
It was Chittagong’s first BPL final in twelve years and their second loss in a decider. The Chattogram franchise has now reached three finals and lost all three.
2024: Fortune Barishal beat Comilla Victorians
Barishal’s first title came against the defending champions. Comilla had won the previous two seasons and were chasing a third in a row.
2023: Comilla Victorians beat Sylhet Strikers
Comilla’s fourth title, and the only BPL final Sylhet Titans have reached under any of their seven names. Mashrafe Mortaza captained Sylhet in that campaign.
2022: Comilla Victorians beat Fortune Barishal
The third Comilla title, and the start of their back-to-back run.
2019-20: Rajshahi Royals beat Khulna Tigers
The Rajshahi franchise’s first title, won in January 2020 with Andre Russell and Mohammad Nawaz doing the damage.
Nawaz returned to the same franchise for BPL 2026 and won a second title with them six years later. He is one of the few threads connecting the two Rajshahi championship squads.
2019: Comilla Victorians beat Dhaka Dynamites
Comilla posted 199 in that final, at the time the highest score in a BPL decider. Dhaka were chasing their fourth title and fell short.
2017-18: Rangpur Riders beat Dhaka Dynamites
This is the final everyone remembers. Chris Gayle scored an extraordinary innings at Mirpur and Rangpur Riders won their only BPL title.
Mashrafe Mortaza captained the winners and Tom Moody coached them. Gayle scored 485 runs across that tournament and set the record for the fastest fifty in BPL history, made in 12 balls.
2016-17: Dhaka Dynamites beat Rajshahi Kings
Dhaka’s third title and their most recent. Rajshahi Kings reached their first final and lost it.
2015-16: Comilla Victorians beat Barisal Bulls
Comilla’s first title, won when the BPL returned after a two-year break.
2013: Dhaka Gladiators beat Chittagong Kings
Back-to-back titles for Dhaka in the first two seasons. Shakib Al Hasan was central to both campaigns.
Chittagong Kings reached their first final here. The franchise then waited twelve years for the second.
2012: Dhaka Gladiators beat Barisal Burners
The inaugural BPL final. Dhaka won the first trophy ever awarded in the competition.
Teams That Have Never Won the BPL
Five of the six BPL 2026 franchises have never lifted the trophy. Some have come closer than others.
The Chattogram franchise
Twelve seasons, three finals, no titles. Chittagong Kings lost in 2013 and 2025, and Chattogram Royals lost in 2026.
A Chattogram side has played in every single BPL season, which makes them the longest-serving franchise never to win it. At some point that stops being bad luck.
The Sylhet franchise
Eleven seasons, one final, no titles. Sylhet Strikers lost the 2023 decider to Comilla Victorians.
They came closest in 2026, losing Qualifier 2 by 12 runs and finishing third overall. Twelve runs from a second final.
Noakhali Express
One season, no finals, and a bottom-placed finish in their debut campaign. Noakhali Express won two matches out of ten in BPL 2026.
Their table has room to grow.
Khulna
Khulna Tigers reached the 2019-20 final and lost to Rajshahi Royals. Khulna Titans also played several seasons without a title.
Khulna did not feature in BPL 2026, so the franchise remains without a trophy and currently without a team.

Shoriful’s 26 wickets set a record for the most in a single BPL season. He did it for a team that lost its owners the day before the tournament began and finished as runners-up anyway.
Losing finalists rarely produce the Player of the Series. That it happened in 2026 says something about how much one bowler carried that side.

Gayle’s 2017-18 season remains the benchmark for batting in this tournament. He scored 485 runs, hit the fastest fifty in BPL history, and won Rangpur Riders their only title in the same campaign.
Hat-tricks in BPL history
BPL 2026 produced two of them. Mehedi Hasan Rana took the ninth in BPL history against Sylhet Titans, and Ripon Mondol took the eleventh against Dhaka Capitals.
The tenth belonged to Mrittunjoy Chowdhury of Rangpur Riders, and it made him the first player ever to take two BPL hat-tricks.
The oddity of Rana’s hat-trick
Noakhali Express lost that match by one wicket. Taking a hat-trick and still losing is a very particular kind of evening, and it summed up their debut season neatly.
Patterns in BPL Finals
Twelve finals produce a few clear habits worth knowing before the next one.
Every recent final is played at Mirpur
Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium has staged every BPL final in recent memory. Capacity, broadcast facilities and access all point the same way, and there is no sign of that changing.

Batting first has worked more often than not
The 2026 final followed a familiar pattern. Chattogram chose to field, Rajshahi posted a defendable score, and the chase collapsed on a slowing pitch.
Chasing at Mirpur under lights is genuinely difficult. Dew helps less there than at Sylhet, and the ball stops coming on to the bat.
Defending champions rarely repeat
Only Comilla Victorians and Fortune Barishal have defended a BPL title. Most champions do not even return with the same squad, because ownership and franchise names change so often.
Two of the last three champions did not play in the following season at all.
The top seed does not always win
Rajshahi Warriors topped the BPL 2026 table and lost their first playoff match. They still won the title, because finishing in the top two gives you a second chance.

Which Franchises Have Disappeared
Part of the reason the winners list looks confusing is that champions keep vanishing. Several title-winning names no longer exist.

Only two of the twelve champion names still existed in BPL 2026, and one of those was brand new. The reigning champions from 2025 were not even in the tournament.
Why this keeps happening
Ownership drives everything. When an owner leaves, the franchise usually rebrands entirely rather than passing the name on.
BCB has also restructured the league more than once, cutting or adding teams between seasons. BPL 2026 ran with six sides after previous editions used seven.
What it means for the record books
Counting titles by team name gives you nonsense. Counting by city is the only method that produces a sensible table, which is why the list higher up this page groups them that way.
Even that has limits. Wikipedia notes that the current Chattogram franchise carries no direct continuity with the older Chattogram teams, so the three lost finals belong to what is arguably three different clubs.

History is only useful if it predicts something. Here is what twelve seasons suggest about the coming one.
Defending is hard in this league
Only two franchises have ever defended a BPL title. Rajshahi Warriors will try to become the third, and the main obstacle is not the cricket.
It is whether the squad survives the draft. Champion sides in the BPL routinely lose their best players because retention rules change and owners change with them.
The overdue teams
A Chattogram side has lost three finals in twelve seasons. Sylhet have reached one final in eleven. Both have supporters who have waited since the first year.
Chattogram were twelve overs from a title in 2026 before their chase collapsed. Sylhet were twelve runs from a final. Neither gap is large.
Watch who is missing
The two most successful recent franchises, Comilla Victorians and Fortune Barishal, did not play in BPL 2026. If either returns for 2027, the balance of the tournament changes immediately.
Comilla have four titles. Barishal have two and won the most recent one before Rajshahi. Between them they account for half of all BPL championships.
The pattern that keeps repeating
Champions vanish, new names appear, and the trophy moves around. Seven different winners in twelve seasons is a lot of turnover for a league this small.
That is either a sign of genuine competitiveness or a sign of instability, depending on how generous you feel. The honest answer is probably both.
